If someone asks about your dream holidays, you’re more than likely to answer that you would love to spend a few weeks on a beautiful exotic island. Chilling under a palm tree and admiring a grand vista at an azure lagoon is so different to going to your regular sandy beach, where you have to spend hours to find a less than desirable spot. It’s time to dream bigger and consider visiting one of the top paradise islands in the world.
1.) Tahiti, French Polynesia

Tahiti is known for its luxurious resorts, perfect for an unforgettable honeymoon, or adventurous stay with your closest friends. The island is full of high-end recreational activities, such as a wine cellar tour, learning the Tahitian dance, or a full day safari tour. And let’s not forget about that Tahiti Lagoon Paradise experience where you get to cruise the crystal clear waters and snorkel among whales, dolphins, turtles, and exotic fish.
2.) Phuket, Thailand

Phuket is becoming more popular every year, so do your best to visit it as soon as possible. It’s an island with a magical vibe. You’ll know what I mean when you’ll cruise through the unforgettable Phang Nga Bay with its immense limestone cliffs surrounded by emerald waters. You’ll also be a stone’s throw away from Phi Phi island, which served as a backdrop for the famous 2000 movie The Beach, with Leonardo Di Caprio.
3.) The Maldives

The Maldives is a perfect choice for an active traveler who’s into water sports. The local waters are known for high waves suitable for surfing. You’ll also find plenty of opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing. But if you simply want to relax, you can hit one of many spa saloons, chill at your luxurious resort, or relax on the oh so beautiful beach. You can even post your pictures on Instagram without applying any filters!
4.) Seychelles

The Seychelles are made up of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean. If you’re into island hopping, this is going to be an opportunity of a lifetime as different destinations are connected by affordable dinghies. Once there, you will realise that food, accommodation, and activities are rather pricey, but there are still many ways to get the most out of your experience, even if you are on a budget.
5.) Saint Lucia

This list wouldn’t be complete without a Caribbean island. Saint Lucia is a true marvel you have to visit at least once, and it’s the definition of a paradise island. Once there, make sure to visit Marigot Bay, which is one of the most attractive natural harbours in the world. You can also take a dip under a waterfall, stroll through an amazing botanical garden or hike in the rain forest and admire exotic species of flora and fauna.
