Gone are the days where cruises have to be on large ocean liners with thousands of people and a set itinerary to follow. Our cruises are on a boutique expedition level and allow small groups the perfect chance to explore the unexplored.
The world of luxury cruising has changed dramatically over the years. Complete control at all times meaning that we have the flexibility to take advantage of fantastic opportunities as they present themselves. The Arctic and Antartica are ever changing and rapidly diverse areas so the ability to adjust an itinerary is crucial to the enjoyment of our guests expeditions. One of the main advantages of this is to capture unexpected wildlife displays or spontaneous shore landings at a particularly interesting or indeed beautiful area. On board are a range of expedition guides who are always on hand to share their in-depth knowledge of these untouched wildernesses.
Below are four of our personal favourite reasons why we believe an Arctic Cruise with The Luxury Arctic Travel Company are the ultimate trip for an avid explorer.
Small Groups
We believe that small groups are crucial the fulfilment of our clients trips and therefore our ships offer one of the lowest capacities in expedition cruising. Each group has a maximum capacity and every expedition has ample expeditions leaders to take advantage of each and every activity. This allows for longer and more personal excursions to ensure that each guest gets the most from every opportunity. Our ships also have the largest proportion of smaller zodiac boats which allows for small groups to be whisked assure in a timely fashion. On a recent trip a client of ours commented that the most surprising thing they found was the smoothness and efficiency of every step of their trip. They were blown away by the expertise of the guides on board, many of which have dedicated their life to the study of these untouched lands.
Remote and Wild
We can get you to the places that most cant. Our purpose build small expedition vessels are designed and crafted for low carbon footprint exploring and can get you to the places which without such a vessel would be impossible to come across. They are also crafted to ensure they are fully prepared for the unpredictable weather conditions giving real reassurance to the onboard guests that they are in safe hands. One of the most wonderful and common bits of feedback we receive from clients is that there is something incredible special about going on an expedition to parts of the world which have never been explored by people before. To tread lightly on pristine places which few people have ever been is not only amazing but for many is a life changing.
Wildlife
For us at the The Luxury Arctic Travel Company we are absolutely passionate about wildlife and so for us this blog would not be complete without touching on some of the extraordinary animals and wildlife which can only realistically be witnessed on an expedition cruise. From Minke Whales, penguins, albatross and polar bears the wildlife our lucky expeditioners are likely to encounter is beyond incredible and never fails to leave our clients speechless. On recent trip one of our most well travelled clients emailed us from on board to say that they have been travelling the world for 30 years but they have never been anywhere which offers such raw and exciting wildlife viewing.
Activities
Our expeditions cater for both those looking for a relaxing break amongst the wilderness and the more adventurous wanting to explore the inner depths of the Arctic and Antartica. Onboard activities include, scuba diving, sea kayaking, alpine trekking, trekking, cross country skiing and climbing.
