Montana means mountain in Spanish and it’s not hard to see why it is aptly named so. Ranges of mountain everywhere. And definitely big skies too!

We stopped at theNational Bison Range. It took us a while, around an hour, before we actually saw a herd of Bison. Furry gentle beasts!

From my memory , St Regis was the last town before National Bison Range. So try to grab your meal there. The one and only nearby convenience shop / place to eat is at the foot of the National Bison Range entrance:

I was starving so I went in. NO THANK YOU to their specialty of Buffalo Burgers, I just grabbed one of those microwaveable Campbells chunky soup cans. Very hearty and filling. But not very healthy Im sure.
Overall we are to spend about 5 days in Montana and little did we know that we could have skipped going to the National Bison Range because throughout our travel from West to East Glacier, we will encounter Dozens and Dozens more of bison just freely going about in the roads.( there will be a post on those soon of course)
Still not bad for our first stop in Montana. We finally reached West Glacier early evening after this.
