There’s less than 375 people in this photo and I’m beyond happy to know that 375 people got my back!
I am so grateful for this experience, and I may not have officially won the title of “winner” but I feel very inspired and excited for 2013 to keep rolling because I’ve got some exciting plans on the way!
Some of the things I’m tickled pink about:
1.) Travel plans! Duh..this is a given. I have been rough drafting my travel for the year and I’m very excited. Nothing booked yet but I have a fairly visible idea when and where I’m going next, and what I’m going to do. My travels for this year will be all purpose-driven. I’ve got 3 definite countries planned so far, and there should be more coming. Will talk about it soon when it becomes more concrete!
2.) Giving my site a Major, and real overhaul. I am DONE with me trying to learn and be an artist and tinkering changing this site all by myself. I finally decided it’s high time I get professional help. I am currently working and exchanging ideas with a very talented graphic web designer for the new look of this site. I have seen the initial layout and I am so excited! I can’t wait for it to finish, and I’m sure you will all thank me for it. It’s going to be 100% more reader-friendly and less cluttered.
3.) Thinking of seriously taking travel writing to the next level. And I don’t just mean writing and writing more posts. I have been writing in this blog for a long time now (just for personal documentation) and I realised I could have made something out of it long ago! I am planning to take a course on professional travel writing, and am choosing which school/ company to go for. I am not too excited about this. I hate studying. I’m more of a “man of action” and was never teacher’s pet (teachers hell more like it!) but I have pondered on this and realised if I really want to pursue this, I will need to get myself professionally ready. My heart may be into it but if I don’t have the set skills required, then I could just be running in circles.
Those are just some of the major plans for the year. And as per usual, my year will be peppered with lots of unexpected fun and joys in-between the ‘major’ plans. I always welcome unexpected plans, as long as they mean more fun 🙂
