The Ultimate Escape at Reflections Holiday Parks + Win a Weekend Getaway!

November 23, 2017 by Jean Holy Smithereens 109 Comments

Summer is definitely making its way down under, so as the days go by the vibe we’re feeling is less Monday, and more sunshine.

We’re pretty lucky Australia is that sunshine-y continent whose summers are so amazing, even Santa wants to spend Christmas here!

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful summer in Australia is
There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful summer in Australia is

Unlike other parts of the world where people go overseas to escape the winter, most Australians stay within the country in the summer months (December to February) and take that time to explore their own backyard.

One of my summer travel goals in Oz is to hire a luxury caravan and drive up to the coast and spend endless days watching more sunsets than Netflix.

I’ve got my eyes set on Reflections Holiday Parks (formerly known as North Coast Holiday Parks, South Coast Holiday Parks and Inland Waters Holiday Parks), as they have 37 holiday parks that include caravan, camping and glamping options set in iconic Crown land locations in NSW.

Top Locations

One of the things that sets Reflections Holiday Parks apart from others is that their parks and public recreation reserves on Crown land are set in the most iconic and pristine locations in NSW.

I mean, just take a look at this map that shows where Reflections Holiday Parks are located, along with the activities you can do:

Reflections Holiday Parks locations

A number of them are located on Crown land which means you have access to some of the most amazing coastlines and inland parks in NSW. Some parks are metres from the shoreline, others connected to pristine reserves and National Parks.

And looking at the wide variety of activities that their parks cover–from adventure, relaxation, wildlife, and a dose of cheese and seafood, there’s something for all kinds of traveller.

Dog Friendly

Out of the 37 parks of Reflections Holiday Parks, 24 of them are dog friendly so you need not worry about leaving your pet behind. These are the perfect kinds of trips to take your pets with you!

Imagine going for endless walks along the coast or through the amazing NSW countryside with your four-legged friends. They too, need a change of scenery and its bound to be a great workout for everyone.

Accommodation Options

I’m also impressed that Reflections Holiday Parks has taken into consideration all kinds of travellers and have different kinds of accommodations available.

They have everything, from luxury to basic cabins, large powered sites to accommodate the largest
caravans, and to those who would like to go back to basics, unpowered camping grounds.

And for those who like to mix luxury with adventure, they also have glamping (the fine mix of glamour and camping).

this caravan + nature is just my kind of combo! photo from australian caravan co.

One of these days, I’m going to hire a luxury caravan and head to an unbeatable location in the Reflections Holiday Parks group. Who’s with me??

Unforgettable Experiences

Reflections Holiday Parks is also dedicated to providing each of their guests their own unique experience in their parks. I know for sure that memorable experiences aren’t just created by luck or chance. It’s a great balance of customer service, location and activities done.

Because Reflections Holiday Parks parks are located in unique and iconic locations on NSW Crown land, they are definitely a lot more than your average holiday parks. The vast land area that these parks cover ensure that they don’t squash hundreds of people holidaying together. Space and privacy is number one in making unforgettable memories, and the team behind Reflections has made sure of that.

Here’s a video that shows just a few of the amazing experiences one can have at Reflections Holiday Parks:

Giving Back

South Coast Holiday Parks - just one of the parks covered by Reflections
There are four Reflections Holiday Parks and reserves along the NSW south coast at Killalea, Pambula, Bermagui and Eden.

True to its name, one of Reflections Holiday Parks’ goals is for their guests to reflect. There’s a lot of research done that shows happiness alone does not make one happy. One has to have that feeling of contributing and giving back to the community to feel happy and content.

Reflections Holiday Parks is aware of the recently popularised term “Nature-Deficit Disorder” which is apparent in today’s society in that ‘the more high-tech we become, the more of nature we need’. Due to this, a large number of holiday-goers are actively seeking out destinations that allows them not just to reconnect with nature, but also support and protect it.

Reflections Holiday Parks care for the land that they cover and they reinvest back into their parks and surrounding public recreation
reserves on Crown land to ensure that guests have natural spaces to relax and reconnect.

Now I don’t know about you, but knowing that I’m also in some way giving back when I go on a holiday allows me to enjoy my time away more!

Hello there, what gorgeous shots. I need a dip in those ocean pools.

I really do deserve a weekend away, and can I whisper that I would love to go off with no children. As a sandwich generation woman, I’m worring about kids, my two young men and my beloved elderly and unwell Mum. To look after all of the family, I need to keep well myself. And the odd wee escape is a great method of self care.

Visiting Australia has always been on my bucket list, and I’d better hurry because I’m already in my 60’s! This experience looks perfect!

Help, we’re marooned on 9-5 island and can’t escape, our tree-house swallows up our meagre resources and we need a relaxing break.

I don’t deserve it. Nobody does really. We live in a world where the separation between the haves and the have- nots has become so insane that the only way we blind ourselves to the injustice of it all is someone convincing ourselves and each other that we “deserve” the good things that happen. It’s complete bullshit.

I still want to go though
