There’s something about old style theme parks that makes me happy. Fun houses, basic rides like Ferris Wheel and merry-go-rounds- there’s an endearing charm in these old school rides that no other high-tech roller coasters/theme parks can have.
Luna Park in Sydney is just like that. Luna Park is Australia’s mini Coney Island.
Luna Park is accessible by ferry. We took the ferry from Circular Quay and we entered through the classic mouth-style entrance.
Luna Park has all the elements of an old-school carnival/fair:
The classic stunt/funny man.
You can have your fortune read, and the hands of this seer told us that we were going to have an awesome fun-filled day. He couldn’t be more correct!
All three of us got a pass that allowed us to have unlimited play inside the fun house 🙂
the classic, giant Ferris Wheel has to be there of course.
And of course, the day isn’t complete without breaking into a song in Luna Park! Watch my sister and I “lose it” to Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream 😉
And as the sun started to slowly set, we rode the ferry back to the city with fond memories of this tiny park.
I would suggest Luna Park to first-timers in Sydney or those just wishing to explore the city. It’s a small place that gives you that happy , sunshiney feeling that I always associate Sydney with.
You don’t have to be with kids to enjoy Luna Park. Just be with a person whom you definitely can be a kid again with. Such as your sibling!
